About the Role Our client is seeking a motivated and organized Volunteer Coordinator to join their dedicated team in Welkom . This crucial role involves recruiting, training, and managing volunteers who are essential to delivering our client's services within the Free State community. You will be responsible for creating a positive and engaging volunteer experience, ensuring our volunteers feel valued and supported. The ideal candidate is passionate about empowering individuals and has excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with a diverse volunteer base. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies for recruiting, screening, and onboarding new volunteers. Plan and conduct orientation and training sessions for volunteers, providing them with the necessary skills and information. Manage volunteer schedules, assignments, and ensure adequate coverage for all activities. Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition to volunteers. Maintain accurate volunteer records, including hours, contact information, and performance feedback. Liaise with program staff to identify volunteer needs and ensure effective placement. Organize volunteer appreciation events and activities. Requirements Previous experience in volunteer management, human resources, or a related field. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to motivate, train, and supervise individuals from diverse backgrounds. Proficiency in using volunteer management software or databases. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to task management.
