Note: Boarding school positions may include on-campus housing and meals (room and board) depending on the role and school. French Teacher Responsibilities: Teach four sections of French at various proficiency levels for students in grades 9-12. Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students. Teach French language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods. Create opportunities for students to practice conversational French and improve pronunciation and comprehension. Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior. Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education. Assist with residential life duties as needed, fostering a safe and supportive living environment for students. Assist with supervising extracurricular activities and/or coaching school athletic teams. French Teacher Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in French, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master's degree preferred. Proven written and verbal proficiency in French. 2-5 years of previous teaching experience preferred. No teaching license or credential is required. Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills. Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community. Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities. Additional Desired Qualities: Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
